got over you

Post by joel » December 11th, 2005, 2:41 pm

I inched in inward inquisitions,
ignored ignoble intuitions,
believed it was better
avoiding the letter
I needed for self-immolations;

but twice there appeared
in the verse I had reared
that ubiquitous u
and I realized through
written verse it’s not i but u feared.

pretty nice but
but I thought poetry wasn't supposed to ryhme anymore

I don't even know why i reply to poem I like, just vanity I suppose.

It didn't just rhyme, the words connected. for me.

If for cowardice or for sublime
high ideals dreamt to organize time
perhaps anachronistic,
I verse for realistic—
tightest harmony formed against rhyme.

my thoughts gaze colorblind and the cosmos is an uninviting color before my eyes, so when i open my mouth to speak or let my fingers move to compose, I break to let the bleakness leak in verses' rhyme-dripped prose.

:) thanks for the kind words, tj--thanks for letting my neuroses have their space.

I liked..was a sort of rhyme riddle...Perhaps you need riddle the rhymes to better understand life..I think we poets must do that for a better comprehension..
The tortured mind of this poet
is a hell in which to live
I design my time living in rhymes
incurring madness with which I feel.
