We're all artificial enough. This is how my shit actually looks. Yes, I suppose I could transcribe it for the sake of S8, but you be the judge.

What no coffee stains?

You have a good hand, Easily read

I got a million miles of truck stop coffee shop napkins, grocery bags, motel stationary, notebooks full of illedgible writting. maybe four or five hard drives of these slippery silicon documents. Grist for the mill

We need more of this. A whole thread of scans of journal pages and random paper-bag-scribblings. I wish I had a scanner

my portrait on a cocktail napkin.... a fine artist named Joe, seated next to me at the show, armed with ball-point pen and Jaegermeister...

I'm a former ranch hand turned Winnemucca trailer refugee in that sketch.... And I can assure you that the hat is pure fiction, tho I wish more hats came equipped with handles like that.

In this day and age, especially with so many [chemically degenerated] examples under my belt, I'd love to play "amateur steganographer." But there's no fun in it, unless invited. What were you thinking, mnaz? A couple of weeks ago, or whenever, only you can figure that out, but at least you're sharing the fullness of your work...cocktail napkins included.

"Yes, Virginia, there is a coffee stain." And vodka, and puke, and tears, and--in the random, unindicated place--blood. Probably sweat on every last page. These items become almost sacrosanct to us, don't they? I'd readily be willing to let everything I own burn, if only to escape with a single drawerful. We are still learning from our pasts, hopefully. Even if it was just yesterday.
