now that the pressure's off
and there is no destination
I'm wishing i'd savored the trip
just a little while long
everything seems so easy now
because really it is
so very simple to love you

the love has always been there
it's us that always gets in the way
while I may not have your candor
your ability to supercede
the lingering emotion
that capture's our maybe
and places it as the eternal question
what if?

I'll never understand
the magic of that if
but then if I understood
it wouldnt be magic at all
would it?

what if we were given a fair chance?
it doesnt matter because not knowing
give's that if its magic
and that magic is
our love

preserved and frozen
for eternity
within in that lingering question
what if?
