going up?

Post by alienpoet » January 30th, 2006, 4:15 pm

the stairs lead up but noone ever comes down
am i the only one who sees that?
i know i'm not going up there...
to..
wherever that is
i get curious
but not that curious
what the hell goes on up there?
is it some secret society ...uh..black hole?
is it...uh...Carousel ...like in Logan's Run?
is it ...uh...Heaven?
well...hell..
i'm staying right here
i've never been in the in-crowd
read me, but don't play me backwards

you're staying right here,

but you're still 'in' it....

(I've wondered about those stairs too).

LOVE this. :)

I really really do.

In fact it has just become my favorite poem.
(I'm a sucker for the rebels.)

Sanctuary!

but to answer your question,
no, I'm not going up or down
or over I am a convincing statue

uncanny poem 8)
Where ever he went, a poet had been there first.

Freud was referring to the perpetual sense of unease, anxiety, or even horror an individual feels when confronted by his or her own sense of unfamiliarity amidst what is normally familiar. For Freud, the familiar becomes unfamiliar through a process of repression in which the consciousness buries a past event or trauma.

I always wanted to fit in. Be in the in crowd, part of the Pepsi Generation.

That was my problem, I was raised on the holy Freudian Trinity. Happiness in the fifties was fitting in. Getting adjusted. Grew up during world war 2, one generation removed from the huddled masses. Then the Rosenberg execution, we wanted to do like the the gentiles did. Wouldn't you?

if curiosity really is a cat I'd surely be dead . (o.k. used spell check and it doesn't look right.)

At any rate I liked.

Good to read you my dear, what stairs I can't find them in my darkness. I really dug this one and no I aint going up into the white light, I like the DARKness where truth is found. "C"

The stairs lead up, but do you ever see anyone following their lead? I don't go up there either. Content or not, curious or not, I seem to mingle with the folks at the bottom of the stairs. I don't ever see anyone walk down them either. No one wants to come down from whatever is going on up there it seems. Good parties tend to have booze, however. Water into wine, not wine into water. When they're all raptured off the hootch, I'm sure someone will trip and fall down here. Maybe then we'll get a definitive answer. I could hold my breath, but I think I need the coversation to help pass the time.
