Southern FLights Of Fancy (Retrospective)

Southern Arkansas mornings blistering hot.
July daydreams spurred by puberty’s rage.
Sweet southern girls blooming like magnolias,
pink and white breast alluring but not
ready for the picking cherry not ripe.
Fishing in the shade barefoot excursions
wishing and praying for blow job aversions
to doing it by hand me down clothes
poor boy delta land scrapping the empty barrel.
She was a miracle inspiring suffocating hopes
to touch and feel sweaty skin deep emotions
glimpse the sweetness, smile shyly groping
for an entrance to the forbidden garden,
incidental contact of flesh monumental
rise to manhood aspirations
left on the bank unfulfilled daydreams.
She still walks in fertile fields of youthful pleasure
a pedestal placed jewel of untouched fantasies
never dirtied by intercourse remorse
broken hearted departed in anger conclusions.
Growing up poor white trash look down your noses
stereotyped by divisional class configurations.
Superior though because love was free
and lavished upon me without strings
wisdom given from life lived not puritanical driven
bullshit God is a tyrant hyped threats.
Treasures of the heart for a southern boy
dreaming of fantasized futuristic flights
of southern heated nights sweaty bodies
meshed in sensual exploratory probing
Simpler life, was the south of my youth.

Hi i

The problem I have with reading a poem written like yours is...not enough breaks. It might be my old eyes but I need line breaks to grasp. I got through most of your poem but had to take a break.

Love the theme, the southern slant, which I know well...

Just give me a break...Hah!

Oh well sorry about that, sometimes I break and sometimes I don't stop for stopsigns, my poetry is the same way. Appreciate the comment and the effort to read it. "C"
