Conscious To Conscious

An old christian woman once told me I was wise beyond my years.
I think she told me a falsehood.
(Isn't there a commandment that says Tho shalt not bare false witness.)
Perhaps she really did think me wise.
(Maybe it's a falsehood against thy neighbor, not ones face.)
Several others have said the same thing. Guess I should believe them.
But if I am so wise then what has possessed me to make the choices I have made; they were not wise.
And what of strength. Cannot count the times I have fallen apart--emotionally and mentally---
(And suicide seemed the only perfect out)
It takes strength to pull that trigger.
(Too permanent I suppose)
Perhaps not permanent enough
(There are those still left you know.)
Yeah strength and wisdom
Gained with age
But what happens
When the mind grows
Too old
To forget.
