the man in the hat

the man in the hat
casts his shadow twice
underneath the lantern
of your dream

his darkness there
beside yours

intermingling iniquities
of night

two nocturnal apparitions
benighted by want
tenebrous longing
aspiration of shadowed morals

he never takes off his hat
he always plays his role
his cover exhaled
by your dream

his emanation is your shadow
and the vestige of his guise
is burned into your sleep
like a wicked tatoo

a caliginous stigma of
obscure desire

:)

Just call me the Tin Man
You dare to come to me for a heart, do you? You clinking, clanking, clattering collection of caliginous junk!

They say JFK was the kiss of death for the hat industry in the USA. Fortunately our Dear Leader keeps the tradition alive. He has a fondness for beanies. I wish someone would tell him that he would look more presidential if he put a propeller on it.

Nice work, straight to the heart.

Panta...It always amazes me that English is your second (or whatever number) language!

a Beautiful and enigmatic poem...(and sent me to the dictionary. Hah!)

Desire is a powerful emotion.

"burned into your sleep
like a wicked tatoo"

Whoa, yeah.

"his cover exhaled, by your dream"

six words to chew on, endlessly. I could take them in so many ways!

a smokey, breathless apparition
insidiously gnawing at the bone
steam pours through his footsteps
silencing cries for clarity
