And I am tempted

We've all seen them
the plain green trees
with the plain green leaves
and the beautiful red berries
that look delicious
delicious enough to eat

squeezed between forefinger and thumb
their juices flow
like a watering mouth

and I am tempted

Yes, this is a poisonous pen poem.

Not bitter, but a tad convulsive.

I am amazed at how much can be said in so few words.

poisonous berries make for a very long night, no matter what the pleasure.

Thanks st and Ann.

I of course would never sample such berries...they are merely attractively, juicely tempting on some visceral level. I know they are not sweet, I always go for the sweet.

Besides, I prefer to die slowly on the page with my pen in hand! 8)
