Trust

Trust is an aborted mission
a missed vision
trust is a level above real
and a notch below hope less
trust is a notion misconstrued
swallowed in missed conceptions
trust makes hallowed halves whole
completely fillable
trust holds a wealth of integrity
unsearchable
trust is the sweetest of
surrenders
encircled by a fold
of almost but not quite
regret
Regret?
Certainly.
Trust infiltrates
insinuates itself upon
the lone souldier
Lends a shoulder
not to cry on
but to rely on
selectively
trust is a steady in
surety
a tumbledive
into the unknown
a drive into the darkest of nights
with the lights out
trust lets you down easy
when you deserve
to fall hard
and surrounds without expectation
it hurls you headlong
into a frenzy of calm emotion
a dredging of doubt
trust exhilarates
and just when you knew
knew of a certainty
that you could trust
no one
What a surprise
delirious surprise
to find yourself embraced by
companionable equanimity
A found friend
when you thought
you had supressed
that need
I trust you
what a gift
what a pleasure
what rest fulfilled

Fine writing here, mousey1!
I read it aloud in my head.
I mean, when I read it to myself, I could hear it as a spoken word piece.
Good stuff... You've got some great lines in here!
I trust you know I don't offer these accolades lightly.

Thank-you, you lovely person you.
Yes, definitely meant to be read aloud in your head.
I cuddle your accolade close to my breast.

Doreen turned me on to this one, and I have to tell you it really hit me where I'm at, today.
I'm at home, feeling kicked in the stomach, and my own trust is to blame.
a tumbledive
into the unknown
a drive into the darkest of nights
with the lights out
trust lets you down easy
when you deserve
to fall hard
Yes. Why did it take me all this time to see through the lie?
Thanks for your amazing poem.

trust is good--
but I can not trust anything
to have trust broken
to not be able to trust your self
to be hard on yourself
stern
trust yourself before others
and all that shit (you have to love yourself before....)
anyway
trust is a touchy thing for me--
liked the word selection in this one...

Thanks to each of you for reading and commenting.
It seems to me that trust is really a two-sided thing, "two-edged" if you prefer.
There is the giver of trust and the receiver of trust and of course they have to work in tandem, in tangent.
Every one's got their story and this story manipulates their life.
All I know for certain is that it is a purely wonderful thing when you find the odd one that you can trust implicitly. A treasure indeed. It is almost like an unexpected gift to be able to truly trust, it is also a gift to be trusted and trustworthy. We should all be so.
As a rule I expect to trust no one. We learn quick lessons when confidences are broken. But we should never become jaded. We must always remain open. Stealthy and wise...but open.
Anyway, my poem speaks for me and I'm glad you all found bits that spoke for you. Your comments are well appreciated.

No. I don't know much
at all but I like
the sound of your voice &
the way it doubts me.
I like that bit from a ~k poem.
I think you commented on it too.
Stealthy and wise...but open.
as sheep in the midst of wolves; so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves.
