Gedichte von der Einigkeit
der Physik, Zeit und Ewigkeit
(poems of the agreement
of physics, time and eternity)

By physics oversimplified, what first
ascends— eruptions launched in Vulcan light
to rocket gracefully mid interspersed
celestial black infinities and white
reflected fireflies and prisms all
between— What first ascends in cosmic flight
must sometime stop. Some moment wait: then fall
it may by grave velocity. The sight
therein the most profound, most dear
is but that pause; impassibility
of motion hanged within an atmosphere
suspended from its crass ability,
suspended self-determination’s role
to movement lay in matter’s self-control.
Suppose then: What is time, but movement in
itself? To move is possibility
alone; but time provides agility
for motion to explode. A mannequin
is humankind without the thought: Begin.—
so motion timeless is futility;
true motion lives by time’s ability
to shiver back and forth and back again
till time is motion realized. Could Earth
exist (and all its matrix be) if time
were not? But wouldn’t such be still and space;
and motionless, the wind upon the face
of waters’ depth? But then if motion, time
must also rest in pregnant pause fore birth.—
Per blessed pause, perhaps eternity
sews shut the fragile seams of pain and peace.
For now the future come to be, must now
not stop and break its chrysalis?— and paused,
time motionless refuses time to be;
eternity then hinges time mundane
with timelessness’ divine eternal peace.
For now to take such pause requires release
what timely is, but future nows regain.
And death: to rest within eternity
and not step new in time again. What caused
such form of death is, though, what might allow
eternal life: time motionless must cease
be time; no time links pause and memory.

"When we say "Time" we mean ourselves. Most abstractions are simply our pseudonyms. It is superfluous to say "Time is scytheless and toothless". We know it. We are time."-C.P. Cavafy1

Your poem reminds me of Husserl for some reason.

"Vorlesungen zur Phänomenologie des inneren Zeitbewußtseins"
eternity then hinges time mundane
I liked it all a lot but that line jumped out at me. Everything is so mundane for me these days. I love it.
