Angel of imperfection

Post by Lucy! » October 22nd, 2004, 10:15 pm

Your divinity dripping
into my overdrawn desert

I want you in ways
my spirit cannot divulge

you

are

beautiful

You are fucking existence
in its rawest form
folk music at its most primitive melody
primordial substance
origins lost
in the crummbled papyrus of the mind

You are love
compassioninnocence
startling sincerity

I've never met you
but I loved you
a million sighs ago

You are clean laundry
honesty engrained in your fabric
You are delicious intellect
a thousand layers of philosophy

Angel of sweet imperfection

Do you run wild unshaven
stubble fermenting on your face
sick
sick with the idea
that I pine for you
solitary and pensive?

I am the earth
plant your roots
within the fertile land of my spirit

is it
that I be a solitary soul
wandering about
without another
to compliment mine being?

Here I contemplate
your existence
loneliness of my past
forgotten
with the thought of your breath
circulating the atmosphere of my life

You must be tangible

I've been lonely all my years
Others have tried to fornicate my mind
thoughtslovesideas uncooked
too raw for my contemplation
the food of their life
poisonous to the vegetation of my soul

Tell me you exist
Meet me by the tree of life
where the sun settles its coziness among the leaves
whisper into my hungry ear
if only to indulge me in a second of your time

Offer me
the
Sweetpea of your Spring
Saltiness of your Summer
Auburn leaf of your Autumn
Warmth of your Winter

Let us be mortal together
let my mind discover the memory of your face
the fingers of my aura
slip into yours
I loved you the moment I uncovered
the meaning of my earthly form
I knew
I one day wanted to share my self
with a being appreciative of beauties
of the woe and contentment
life offers
in one collective murmur

Do you look for me
in plump rain drops?
the soft middle of a caramel candy?
Do you look into the ocean
see my proverbial reflection swim to you?
Can you see my raven hair
in the velvet of moonlit nights?

I extend the ache of my intellect

Wondering if we two
will find the other
in this realm of uncertainty

Lucy,

Your poetry has grown like a baby before my eyes.
It's a joy to watch.

This piece is so good that I wonder what you are doing home on a Friday night.

if only

Post by Lucy! » October 22nd, 2004, 10:52 pm

if only I too knew the answer to this question
I have much homework to complete
and have turned down all invitations to social events to write the remaining papers on my list

and all i can do is ponder
dig into the loneliness i've felt all my life
longing for a kindred spirit to commune with
if only for a platonic encounter

my break up with Armando has left me thirstier for a meaningful, intellectual union with a like minded being

none have crossed my path (those who have pursued me in recent times have not sparked anything in me)

im beginning to wonder if I'm not meant to have an intellectually stimulating relationship with anyone.

ahh, perhaps one day...

*thank you for the lovely compliment Clay, you are a gentleman at his finest

there are lots of poems about love, lots of poems about being in love, but this poem is a poem about the idea of being in love, a poem about the details and possibilities of being in love, about what love might or should look like......imagination is the first step.....I like it
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

Lucy, I'd love to mind meld with you. Your mind scintillates me to the fiber of my being. Someone is out there waiting to intersect with you in time and space. Never doubt that.

Make no mistake, it happens. I have found you. By that I mean, what John said. Someone is there. I have found the You who are you in my own Her. It can happen, it happens, I know it as fact. Make no mistake. He or she is there, circling, orbiting, looking for a place to land. And when you find him or her and he or she you, worlds will change for both.

Peace,
Barry
