going there

i spent alone like a rich woman
i loved
men that were misers with love
even when they gave gold and silver
the love was borrowed or stolen from old partners
stagnated by parental obligation
rented by spirits that would not go away
refusing to work
in the light of reason
emotion calls like a breeze accross water
comfortable and safe
from the haunted losses
i never felt this before
refreshing water on a hot summer day
i love him
there is nothing more to say
he plays gituar in the truck
his eyes talk to me
as we grasp new ideas
touching
he reads me
the textures of what we are willing to share
i want it all
skin and beauty
intense exploration
the journey of intimacy
places that i have never been
carving a new plateau to take flight from
eagles with roots flying above us
we stop in awe to admire what somehow belongs to us
and then...... two mated bald eagles at the beach
kissing and laughing in the sunshine
i am going there
my feet are dancing
my heart is singing
and i love him
i want to marry him
and he knows it
he loves me
he sees who i am
the paint brushes
canvas
the tents, sleeping bags coleman stoves
the shoes, the work out clothes
the no flour no sugar
the woman i have always wanted to be
is melting in his mouth
we talk of healing
we walk the beach
we sing
together
we laugh
i laugh at myself
i can do this
no ordinary man could satisfy a woman like me
and he is beautiful
