My Baby Cries

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rain pounding down,
train horn echo's
from the B&O,
police cars prowl
historic streets,
heads on swivels,
voices booming
loud warnings
in the morning,
big brother cameras
watching from light posts
saying, "Do ya dare?",
a city market sits
majestic, in silence,
birds sing as fans
hum a tune inside,
upstairs in pain
my baby cries........
You sketch the edgy fascination of this place well.... tough love and hum of a city, made from (and indifferent to) the latest human agenda(s)...
And the ending leaves quite a bit to the imagination.
Mark.... It seems my comments finally broke here, of the sum total of your many fine, quick portraits of your hometown, troubled though it may me. And I hadn't yet read the news of CJ. I will try to send my best positive energy your way. That's about all any of us can do.
quimioterapia...auch! it's hard.
I wish you peace, friend. I'll light a vainilla candle right now for you and your family, (I don't know how to pray anymore).
I have no words to say what I feel. Only that I keep you both in heart and mind as much as I can. [ ]
I pray all the time. It is a converstation with G*d. I just don't believe in a super natural G*d anymore.
