foot-steps

this is more of a story... but anyways
I got bored one day.....
Where are you tonight?
I lie on the grass and asked this question.
I close my eyes,
and see your face in detail.
I want you here beside me,
instead of in my head.
I hear footsteps
on the sidewalk behind me.
My hopes raise and I turn my head.
But instead, it's an elderly couple,
holding hands, and laughing.
I smile.
They wave.
I hope that can be us,
in about 50 years.
I give up on looking behind me.
I hear more footsteps,
Guessing it's a woman jogging,
from the sound
of rapidly, but steady footsteps.
I still lie there, waiting for everything to happen.
For anything.
I hear a yell, mixed with laughing.
the woman had been tackled by a man,
hugging her, then purposed.
She starting crying, and said yes.
I lay back down.
hearing more foot steps,
I close my eyes,
Whispering to myself.
"star light, star bright..."
Someone grabs my hand,
and I jump.
With my eyes still close, i get a hug
"what were you wishing for?"
it's him.
i say softly...
"what's it matter? It came true."
