What grace illumines grace, contextual

What grace illumines grace, contextual
and independent from consistency—
save gentle mercies endless meted out.
And well enough for me; and more than well,
that love be buttressed on the hopes of grace
and therefore left to pilgrim sanctity—
when humans, nothing more or less, depart
envisioned faith to claim upon the heart
and love for love’s poor sake: divinity
of grace that loves the holy imaged race.
If law turns ethics, how might morals swell
reshaped—norms undiminished, turned about
as graciousness that claims humanity
both Homo sapiens and sexual.
