A simple fact: when defecations move

A simple fact: when defecations move,
the natural response is but to wipe
away the mess and memory; and shame-
less natures all approach the same. And my
response comes first to part the void between
my buttocks on the hope to leave unmarred
my skin. Soft origami tissues fold
in orders carefully arranged— I hold
then papers fast and confident to guard
against stain, waste and rot; and when I’ve seen
past final wipe—like tears away—that I
am clean indeed, then (swiftly as became
a moment’s waste) I flush away that hype
that always moves again. How like your love.
