angular crossing or geometrical law

out from the cellarstorm
of tunnels
the clatter climbs the grade.

the sun sets.

worn blue sky behind
darker clouds
with vast colored highlights.
pink & orange & silvers
of celestial fire.

clouds cut shadows
sharp as solid objects.

from a height
what's left of the day
is divided
between an anachronistic glow
& shadow of coming night.
godless & songless, western man dances with the stuffed gorilla through all the blind alleys of a dead-end world.

I used to walk with my head in the clouds but I kept getting struck by lightning!
