It's quiet tonight.
only a flicker through the haze
of those who captured a maze,
in filmy smoke of concession speech
under another pale excuse of a moon.
Now dark corners of the sky must retire,
peaceful as a pundit's canyon eye,
and the rocket's red glare
that comes on later at five.
But it's quiet tonight,
