whirls in a electric pool

the place where things seemed broken and hallow
came to visist her at the university, when time seemed all wrong, and being late or wrong caught her on the corner
of the coffee table and peeled her little toe in shrieking pain
a reminder that nothing is perfect in her world
but who cares anyway?
she was in her matrix trench, toting a backpack full of notes that maybe would mean something
on a different day
yesterday her son sent her candy and flowers
she was 49
it was only three semesters away, this graduation thing, and her hands were held tightly, a cat purring near by--------------------------------------------------------all night againest the past and the pain, and the things she could never seem to control
she had learned alot, yet what was she doing? she had lost sight of what she came here for, these university buildings and many books later, she rememebered why
it was to help
people like us
reading endlessly she had managed to find new pairs of glasses
clothing, medication to still that enraged voice, focus focus
remember why you are here
the semester of required classes, and her memeory just walked
yeah ran out the dreamscape
next semester it would be different
she would paint
let some air in that place where thoughts look like sparks in a dimming galaxy
the colors of the sky seemed to change too fast
time slipped by
the dust particles would settle long enough to be scattered once again
the wolf howls
she did not even know that she had these things
this spinning top this life long prayer
endless words
race to the top of an invisable mountain
i guess other people knew
what she could not see or know
just the flow of the river wet feet and some very smooth stones
that spoke of a time when this time would come
she could shout
or cry or be someone else
but the finger prints would reveal the truth
so much more powerful
like blood that speaks of what has gone one
way back
grandma changes the colors of the stone around my neck
i ll come to you she said
when she was 92
there had never been a question
that did not have an answer
which answer is the right one
