Poem Erections

i get tired of clever poetry
written by intellectual hands
forming worlds from vagaries
describing places
and thoughts that
i'll never see
much less comprehend

words woven with just
the rights colors
- matching
- coordinated
pleasing to the eye
balanced and pretty
just standing there
looking to be read
by eyes more
cultured
than my own.

but what i read
i discriminate
like some
motherfucker
having no reason
but just that feeling
that swells up
like an erection
and knows what it needs

cool poem.. yeah, i don't like the ones i don't understand either but i understand this one

(unlike some of the ones i write myself ;))

happy new year, dear friend

much love to you & sooZ and your son

thank you for your contributions for the past several years... i get nostalgic and overly corny this time of year... but at least i'm sincere :)

i hate that i need it
i hate that i need to weed my writing
i hate that i need to tend to it and culture it
i hate that it drains me
i hate that it drives me away
i hate that my words so carefully chosen are not the clear, honest verses i would rather embody
