It's so subjective (abuser song #4)

Post by joel » February 10th, 2007, 8:38 pm

“It’s so subjective,” he told his love good-bye;
and close-eyed Love withheld reply.
“It is—
it’s relative by nature, prejudiced
in essence,”
he continued, calm and sharp
and beautiful as Love had ever known—
so rendered heart surrendered once to pain
again and Love wept openly.
“No use
exists in fault’s assignment for abuse,
abuse extant in truths you only claim
as truth,”
he reasoned such that Love was shown
his reasonable truth. And did Love warp
his words for martyrs’ holy claims?
“You missed
how true my love has been,”
and hadn’t his
been true? And close-eyed Love withheld reply.

My first impulse...

is to say that love shouldn't be that complicated.

(but I suspect it is).
