Wire-mesh bug screen

Post by joel » March 24th, 2007, 9:11 pm

Wire-mesh bug screen
where I’d seen you
lean your arm and
fold up, hand in
hand and breathe—there
is just where you
fare the best, where
you can stare out
fair and far, long
past the wrong and
song bird whore sounds
you have found a-
round you too long—
yes: too long, too
long. What do you
look at through those
blue-black wires? How
does this bold pow-
wow world stand up
to your ruptured
up-and-come dreams?
Do the beams and
seams stand up, sew
in and hoe the
rows you hoped for,
longed for—or not?
Poor baby whore.
Poor body store,
good for more than
sure orgasm:
a spasm flight,
chasm crossing,
embossing wire mesh
flesh on bug screen
where I’d seen you
lean on nothing.
