love erodes

the wash of the lake
rippled with emotions
unspoken
were quiet, pebbles sand leaves
slid down the muddy bank

the doctor told him
he was sick
she pretended to read her text books
sad
he was not going to out live her.
sometimes
she was mad
because she loved him
and now he was sick
he did not understand
interaction and communication
he was dying that was all he heard
she looked out over the lake
crying
she closed her eyes and saw flames on her heart
