Still Now Still

Science now says that meditation changes the brain
connects the neurons, high ways in thinking
all I know is that it keeps me in this moment

still dark, still but not quiet and early still in the morning
larks sing somewhere in the present and the sun still sleeps
this moment is full of awakenings

i remember the storm, the fast beating of hail against panes
too early to awake but thunder and flashes of light
fling me into this side of awareness

the hail is gone, melted into earth and the only sign
the flowers from the pomegranates scattered at my feet
a future thought...will there be fruit? collides with my present

No matter, it doesn't matter now for the trees still stand
many flowers and small hard fruits still attached
the larks still sing and my coffee is getting cold

the cup empty
the knees poised for serious thought
a poem in mind

tree toughening
makes for abundant
fruit, & hardy thoughts
don't let the cup-a-joe
get cold..........

Judih, Mark and T....thank you for the read and replies. As you know, my posts have been few and far between lately what with my schedule but it did me good to know I could sit down and just knock one out and I was myself, very pleased with the results. Thanks again for the encouragement you have always provided!
