most of the girls she knew went vegan when they wanted to lose wieght, and her friend was going to accept a job as the dog woman on top of a mountain, for two thousand dollars a month.
all the vegan girls liked to wear nice clothing and had a great sense of humor, she just could not figure out how to live without pepper jack cheese and t-bone steak
she laughed at the jokes but got high on carbos and became slap happy on cake

He had been a fat kid,
but lost a lot of weight before he went vegetarian toward the end of high school.
And in college, he was more than vegetarian—he went vegan.
And he was more than vegan—he went fruitarian.
He also joined the rowing team and modeled naked for nascent sculptors.
He gave up drinking anything but water for Lent.
He wanted to be purified.
He honestly fantasized about the prospect of being as small
a piece of the universe as possible, about being so small as to be lost in the cosmic demonstrations of physics and time.
He wondered if becoming so small could be a holy discipline,
a disciplined humility,
a wholly humble discipleship.
He rejected leather wallets,
but justified a black leather belt as a relic of his carnivorous previousness.
He justified leather shoes on the grounds that plastics didn't allow his feet to breathe.
He eventually supposed it was either livestock souls or Birkenstock soles
that would get the last exhalation;
and he graduated at his record two hundred twenty pounds.

i breathe utter ecology
vegan downtown
fruitarian in the field

fresh grown smoothee froth
my ginseng freshly picked
my lemon grass reaches to the sun
