What in the Universe?

Post by sooZen » February 16th, 2006, 10:23 am

Every Thursday, you can go to http://www.astro.com and get an extended interpretation of your transits (the paths of the planets thru your birth chart).

Whether you do or do not 'believe' in astrology, (ask me about it...i have been using astrology for over 30 years for everything from gardening to treating my children and my dis-ease, etc.) this is a very good site and it's free! Kewl!

Here is a brief of my daily horoscope:

Beware of airs ***
Valid during many months: During this period you feel good and project warm positive energies out into the world. This in turn affects your relationships very positively and enables you to encounter people who can be good for you precisely because you are good for them. In all personal and professional transactions with others you will give and receive in equal measure.

Personal relationships expand under this influence. If you have been living in a relatively small circle of friends and acquaintances, you will expand your circle and meet people whom you wouldn't ordinarily, possibly including the rich and famous or people in power. Just be careful that you don't become involved with these people for superficial reasons; make sure that you can grow through them. The fact that a person is socially significant may not have any relevance to your relationship.

The basis for all this is that in a very real sense you are growing and taking more and more of the outer world into your personal sphere. You are trying to include more of the world in your experience. Properly handled, this process can make you a much wiser and more mature individual. Your view of life should expand, and you should become increasingly tolerant of the wide differences among people in the world. You have the opportunity to become a woman of the world to a much greater extent.

At this time, you should be careful not to assume arrogant airs or to think that you are better than you are. You are probably a fine person, but that does not mean that you are necessarily better than everyone else. Think in terms of your personal growth, not in terms of your status with respect to others.

The interpretation above is for your transit selected for today:
Jupiter Conjunction AscendantJupiterConjunctionAscendant exact at 22:05
activity period from beginning of February 2006 until beginning of October 2006.

What's up (or down) with you?
Freedom's just another word...

Ah so, the url won't let me in.

BOWS!

Interesting reading, reminds me of one of Phil Ochs' songs lines,

"outside of a small circle of friends,"

Itry to keep an open mind about astrology. Like Tarot cards I think the value rests in the abilities and gifts of the practioner.

Douglas Adams wrote this bit about astrology in his novel, Mostly Harmless.

- I know that astrology isn't a science, said Gail. Of course it isn't. It's just an arbitrary set of rules like chess or tennis or what's that strange thing you British play?
- Er, cricket? Self-loathing?
- Parliamentary democracy. The rules just kind of got there. They don't make any sense except in terms of themselves. But when you start to exercise those rules, all sorts of processes start to happen and you start to find out all sorts of stuff about people. In astrology the rules happen to be about stars and planets, but they could be about ducks and drakes for all the difference it would make. It's just a way of thinking about a problem which lets the shape of that problem begin to emerge. The more rules, the tinier the rules, the more arbitrary they are, the better. It's like throwing a handful of fine graphite dust on a piece of paper to see where the hidden indentations are. It lets you see the words that were on the piece of paper above it that's now been taken away and hidden. The graphite's not important. It's just the means of revealing their indentations. So you see, astrology's nothing to do with astronomy. It's just to do with people thinking about people

Reminds me of the Last Whole Earth Catalogue. There was a story writen in the margins of the pages called Divine RIghts Trip. I think I am talked out for a while.

Today's banner of the surf got me started on all those sea longing haiku. But I don't sea no seabirds. Looks like the Atlantic Ocean. Still clicking my heels together for a trip to the coast.

I just need to work up enough confidence in my old car with the 160000 miles on it.

Ah, it woiked!
Polarities
You will probably encounter tension today between your personal needs and your public and professional duties. You may feel that you are being pulled in two different directions that are almost impossible to pursue simultaneously. Events that happen today emphasize the polarity in your life, so that you have to distinguish continually between "myself" and "them," subjective and objective, conscious intention and unconscious impulses, public and private. At its worst, this influence can be quite difficult, and you may feel as though everything were breaking down. It all depends upon how much you have de-emphasized emotion and feeling in favor of rational intellect. On the other hand, if your feelings and your conscious intentions have taken the same direction, this can also be a day of high energy and achievement.

The interpretation above is for your transit selected for today:
Sun Opposition Moon
activity period from 25 February 2006 to 27 February 2006.

Well this could have applied to last Wed for sure. I was spozed to go to the opening ceremony at the Zendo but was also wanted to be at the local congressman's office for a demonstration. I wound up doing neither. On Thursday, I went to the Zendo for a 1 day retreat from 5 AM to 9:30 PM. On Friday I emailed a local activist and informed him that I didn't feel comfortable going outside the schools to hand out counter recruiting info and I also let Jayboid know that I was burned out on street demos.

My Zen teacher told me that I had inherent strength and could do personal work and be involved in outside activities. It is my dilemma, but I know that I need personal work, healing again, the practice which I am doing today at my work here in the cancer unit.

So this reading is exact, just in retrospect last Wednesday, altho it is an ongoing concern as well/, just not public and professional, but personal (which includes family and spiritual, aesthetic, fun) and transpersonal, which includes work and activism.

I have offered to do a book review of my friend's book, just out, for the VVAW, we'll see.

Full steam ahead
At this time you may have to strive very hard to get anywhere but if so, your goals when you do reach them will be more permanent and far reaching. If you are unclear about what you are doing in some area, this is a good time to look inside yourself to find out what you really want to do. You should not and probably cannot move until you are clear about your objectives. In examining yourself, you may discover hitherto unknown psychological forces that you can use to gain your ends. A considerable change in self- understanding may be one consequence of this influence. If you are at all clear about your purpose, this influence should assure you of success in any undertaking that you become involved in now. Proceed full steam ahead and do not worry. Just avoid stepping upon other people's toes unnecessarily, because that can have dangerous consequences later on.

hammer hammer
full steam ahead

Have you been to Padre Island lately?
Camped on the beach in 1969.
Wonder what it's like today.

I gotta go back to the jewel mines!

High energies ***
Your ego energies are high, which means that you can stand up for yourself against almost anyone today. You have great confidence and will not easily allow someone to take advantage of you. Unfortunately this may also mean that you will get into fights and arguments. Try to remember that other people have egos too. You don't have to defeat others in order to maintain yourself. You should be especially careful in your dealings with supervisors. They will not expect you to be as assertive toward them as you are likely to be today. You have a great deal of physical energy also, which means you can work hard and long. If you use these energies intelligently, you should be able to accomplish far more worthwhile work than on other days.

The interpretation above is for your transit selected for today:
Mars Conjunction Sun exact at 01:25
activity period from 26 February 2006 to 2 March 2006.

Welll this one doesn't take into consideration the psychic cleansing I got last week. I do have strong ego strengths, but also know that I am vulnerable should certain structural limits be broken.

I can see the warning in this one, but please, my patience is wearing thin. I had to reboot my copmputer software and now the pics will not edit. Hrrummmph.
