Sunday Stream (58) ~ change-x-change

Post by mtmynd » December 4th, 2005, 9:16 am

change-x-change

The reality is I find it disconcerting to sell myself. but the fact is that is the way of the world. We are a buy/sell society and not just in a capitalistic sense but through the exchange of product or services we exchange part of our being with others. It matters little what the product or service is...the exchange is what matters.

Give and take.... buy and sell - parallel energies contributing to life. The street cleaner just as important to a clean and orderly community as the governor.... buying a roll of toilet paper holds the same importance as purchasing the latest BMW - the circularity of exchange, the exhange of energy amongst people.

We exchange words, emotions, spit and sex. We exchange whilst we change. Exchange bringing change and change bringing exchange. Not only human but all of Nature does the same - the rain exchanging dryness with moisture.. clouds exchanging the sunlight with shade. Nature has it down pretty pat. It's been doing it for far longer than mankind. We're still learning to do our exchanges in a fair and balanced way just as Nature does, but we historically have fallen short having to kill and destroy that which we have created only to begin again and again.

New philosophies, new technologies, new insights from sciences and psychologies, we continually struggle to keep a level-headed balance to our lives... and continually find that balance is is never what we think it is or should be. Thus the struggle continues, thanks to mind and it's insistence on running the show.

The show is not what we want. The show is what we are a part of... Shakespearean players upon a stage which includes a much grander stage that the tiny platform for our ego to perform upon. Refuting that which we instinctively know, there is something, Virginia, more important than our ego - exchanging our ego for the other side... just 'a step outside our mind' as Taj Mahal once sang.

All of Nature is intune to that area... beyond the intital ego-self, the area of Pure Consciousness that unifies Life where understanding is no longer a goal but fully attained. It is the ultimate gift of exchange that forever gives... and forever will change our humanity.

Yeah but what is that bit about nature abhors a vacuum and a dishonest scale. So what is a fair exchange I might ask. Just a rhetorical question not a pop quiz. So somebody got to star in the movie, Life The Movie, our hero fighter pilot president with the dirty underwear.
We're still learning to do our exchanges in a fair and balanced way just as Nature does, but we historically have fallen short having to kill and destroy that which we have created only to begin again and again.
Why is it so hard for us homo stupidicus to work that out, lets do it, even monkeys do it.
experiments with monkey and food rewards, they know what a fair deal is. You give one a grape and another a slice of cucumber for doing the same task and you got labor problems in your lab.

I wanted to tell you that 58 was a

Polished stone in the stream

Sometimes when I cross over the ten on one of the 2 lane FM roads I take I stare off towards the horizon and I see San Diego or LA.

Ola, Arcadia! Funny you mention I-Ching... this past weekend at our show I displayed a piece of mine I named 'Ching Tao'...

Image

Although it is an older piece, I think it still has its 'worthiness'... the '(I)-Ching" comes from the (6) oro parallel lines in the center, while the 'Tao' is the 'way of the final painting'... the direction the work took. The name is also a word play of a border slang term, 'ching-ou' (sp?), which is a common expressive sound which translates into English as "Fuck!"... Have you heard, or use, that expression down south?

Gracias y salud a usted, amiga gemini!
