_______
"Which one did you buy?" I asked.
He began reciting the words written above, "trust your path wherever it may lead..." and I joined in finishing the cecilism.
"I really like that one..." again, his voice trailed off.
I thanked him and shook his hand... asked if he found any others that he liked. He was satisfied with that one. He then slowly walked out of the tent, his pleasant look followed. I felt he trusted his path wherever it took him.
If our path in life doesn't cause harm or damage, if our path alleviates worry and danger for others, if our path succeeds in bringing joy and bliss to our lives and we can share with others those times, our path is a pretty good path. It's a foundation that we can be comfortable with.
If our path leads further from our joy and bliss, if our path leaves no room for others, if our path endangers life then we should stop and question that path. A path such as this is not trustworthy for either ourselves or others. This is not a path but a rut. Being stuck in a rut does little for finding our Self... there appears to be no way out and we're on somebody's else's track and not our own, hopelessly going around and around, around and around, with no way off, the rut getting deeper and deeper...
Our path is our own step-by-step... our personal journey. This should be one of learning and awakening... entertaining, educating and enlightening.
Our path has been taken by others before our own journey. We may think we are the absolute first to journey down this road and we are journeying alone, but as much as we may think, deep down inside us we know we're not alone on our journey. There have been many before us dealing with the same journey. Acceptance of this knowledge eliminates a journey of worry and confusion, of insecurity and doubt. Follow the instinct, follow goodness, follow peacefully, follow fearlessly and the journey will reward with realizations never before experienced... each one a further step towards our ultimate freedom from this cycle of life...
...absolutely...
