are there any 13 yr olds amongst us..? really? gadz... i just can't imagine a 13 yr old reading any of my streams much less any other topic around here. culture? politics and such? i find that difficult to comprehend... what about some of the everyday language we find on here... you know, the 'street talk' (shit).. that we are free to use..? hmmm... 13 yr olds can actually find any really crappy erotica on many free sites on the internet... hell, even i found some of that!!

All I know is that the software is set up so that people have to agree that they are 13 years old or older in order to register. I didn't write the agreement. It's some legal agreement that comes with the software to protect website hosts and website owners from getting in trouble for exposing adult material to children. The wording was worded in keeping with COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) ... google it... you'll find more information than you really want to know. (I found much more than I wanted to know but apparently now that I operate a website, I have to be aware of the information.)

So, anyway, if the age limitation is 13 in the terms to be a member here, then obviously the law has no problem with it. I just wondered what you thought.

I have a 12-year-old daughter. Hest has a 13-year-old daughter. Frankly, I don't like sheltering my daughter. She hears the words shit and fuck at school every day from her classmates. I have no doubt. Kids talk like that. It's just part of the language these days. I also want her to be exposed to ideas about culture and philosophy. But I'm not too hip on her being exposed to erotica and porn at her age, though I know she will be somewhere down the line anyway.

I doubt that she hangs out here and reads very much, but I do know she hits on the site sometimes because it's our home page on both of our computers.

I'm not trying to tell you to curtail your muse. I'm only saying that in some people's eyes there may be a fine line between artistically creative erotica and porn and I'm just asking you to keep in mind that there may be 13-year-old kids who might be come here.
