Sunday Stream (215) ~ Banking on a Stream

Banking on a Stream
or
other's thoughts - my words
- - -
There is no reciprocity. Men love women, women love children, children love hamsters. -- Alice Thomas Ellis, author

Odd what pops up on a site where you'd least expect it...

Ever wonder how much space cyber-space takes to keep all the information that is available worldwide? I don't have a clue. I doubt many do... much less think about something like that. I mean, what difference would it make if I did know? If you knew the answer to that would your life be any less confused... would you sleep better at night?

It's the little things, like bricks, that stack up into bigger things. It's all in the mortar to keep it going. The glue to keep 'it' together.

The universe is together, despite the idea that it's expanding, expanding, expanding... there may come a moment when it'll get so thin, so separated, that every thing will drift off from all else, gravity be damned.

"Life is 10% what you make it and 90% how you take it." - Irving Berlin

Perception is like our fingerprint... everyone's got a different slant on life. It's logical. We're all in different places from each other. Nobody occupies the same space as you. So even though the space between you and me may be only incremental, they alter my perception from your perception. Add to the perception thing the environments we live within, the culture we share, the language we speak, the weather we have.. these things are different everywhere... so goes our perceptions - they are all over as far as humanity is concerned. It's all how we take it... yours and his and ours and theirs and everyone else's perceptions. It's actually quite amazing that we do live together as well as we do.

"Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds. " - Albert Einstein

Mediocrity is problematic only to those whose mediocrity does not apply. But that violent opposition..? The annoying screams of a child who has crapped in their diaper is more tolerable only because the diaper can be quickly changed. But the violent opposition needs a change of mind which is a slow and tedious process that involves the slow ticking of time. This is where patience becomes virtuous. When patience becomes a nuisance, patience is lost.

i liked the way you stacked rocks my love
you never know when a bear will appear
and dismantle what one creates
sweeping rocks or bricks and mortar aside
with a sweep of a massive paw

...

I see what you see but I see it from my living room
gazing out of two round windows
we stand together describing the scene
and I wonder if we are even looking together
or only standing in unison gazing

...

I think Irving Berlin had it right
you can make it but can you take it?
Alberto the great spirited one knew that
imagination was the key and creativity
was far more important than theorem
It takes a great spirit to rise above
the mediocre who wallow in nothing special

...

I bathed in the stream my love...naked
for distance means nothing to a stream
it just seeks to flow, this stream was a gush

waterfalled,

Have you ever noticed...and I'm sure you have
that folks seem to lack common sense?
More and more I notice this.
A simple task seems blown out of proportion
and yet the premise is so basic
don't over think it.

Over thinking. I guess we all do it. And yeah
maybe it all just boils down to differing perceptions.

I really must learn to cut the world some slack!

Thanks, as always, for your perspectives. They awaken my own.
I used to walk with my head in the clouds but I kept getting struck by lightning!
Now my head twitches and I drool alot. Anonymouse

timely stream

Thinking about the town hall meetings where the congressmen and reform minded doctors are being shouted down by the audience. Verbal violence.
http://www.studioeight.tv/phpbb/viewforum.php?f=12

The audience of people filled with common sense and passionate opinions that they have pre recorded from their favorite pundits.

This all probably had nothing to do with your stream, just what I was thinking when I read it.

i didn't have that title at all in the beginning of putting a title to this. it was just "other's thoughts - my words'... but as i was getting ready to post it, i just wasn't happy with the title... not happy enough anyway... so i waited a bit to see if something else came along and bip! 'banking on a stream' came by struttin' like a peacock in an easter parade mid-morning on easter day after having a pancake breakfast with warm maple syrup poured over the stack... glad i waited... i like it, too.

thank you...

or only standing in unison gazing

It is a crazy mixed world when I read the news

But when I look up into the night sky full of signs and wonders
it all makes perfect sense

We are star travelers
spiraling in unison with our raspberry galaxy

My spine is compressed
I am two inches shorter than I was forty years ago
I keep telling myself gravity is just a theory
like evolution.
Don't amount to a hill of beans.

I rejoice for you my brother
that she has your back

thinking about a bit you rote a long time ago

"when you were tight
and I was hung:

how long have i wondered why we remember the things we do
when so much has come along with it that is never, ever recalled.

like looking up into a night sky and seeing but 1, maybe 2,
objects de light that capture our endless imaginings while
all else fades away into the background without a thought.

how many things do i remember my parents saying to me
that they quite possibly would never consider remembering?

our memory - only for our well being and nothing more
to assist us on our journey to destinations and places
that only add to our human experience and nothing more;
our library may be packed to the roof with shelves upon
shelves of experiences we have had, or only one bookcase
sagging in the middle of but a few, but never to be forgotten,
memories that sustain us until that one moment we were
given birth for... our passing from this plane unto another
armed with what we had to experience in order to move on
or doomed to repeat again and again this plane until we learn
enough thru experience and experience alone to advance beyond.

[enough, i say... stop! stop it! stop it Now! damned mind!]

;)

I like to shake it up now and then
a piece of an old puzzle pops up and synapses into place
I guess you could call it one of the Aha experiences

But I don't always know what triggers a memory from remote memory.

There was a movie called I Am A Camera,
of which I have no memory of except the title

I am cameras recording everything
And it is all in here with me
everything ,every lived experience, every book I have read, every word I heard or said, every moment of my existence is in here me
and the continuity of all life is flowing in my veins.

Good times here are not forgotten
Help help I have fallen and I can't stop typing
