judih,

The spell thing has long fascinated me.

One time I swore off writing and playing songs because I reasoned that they were spells. You know, repeated incantations that would take the listener to some place in the past.

So, I swore off songs for awhile and only played improvised music.

But I have since slipped back into my evil sorcery. I can't help it. Songs are powerful spells. At least I don't write gangsta rap. That's black magic.

It's disappointing to say the least that you have met such unceramonious ends at the hands of administrators with narrow views and smaller minds. But then again, had you not, you wouldn't have been inspired so readily to build a site like this for those of us that like to tell it and hear it unsensored.

BTW... I laughed my ass off at your parady.... although, I have to agree with Kayla....

and I have another saying for you:

It's not length or strength of the wand,
But how the magician conjures with it.

Sherry, it's good to see your face here in fantasy/freedom land.

I really have no ill feelings about either the PIP or Arcanum folks. I love people, what I don't love is rules. haha

Damn.

I'd heard about the banning and whatnot, but I didn't know what was up with it. Now I understand. And I'm rolling my eyes at the ban. Whatever.

But you know, AC is supposed to be like, a family site and shizz. I guess.

Deteriorata...ha!

But I'm also offended to no end. I mean, black ,white. What about the mixed people? WHAT ABOUT US, HUH????
*sniffle*

Laurie, is that you?
Everything is surreal and i'm still not sure which decision I'll make.

I love it over there. I practically live there.

There are some really good writers over there.

They don't have a "list", Jimbo.

Since you didn't spend much time there, jimbo, you probably didn't discover the amount of talent over there. But you've read some of AC's fine writers right here at S8.

We have several AC regulars who post here including

judih
wylde
Sierra
Aquestion
Ratbag
abcrystcats
Michael Bonnano
dcwodke (he came to several of our jams)
manic
ADannon
e-piph
Southbound Snackyderm

oh and there are more... i just can't remember right now.

Anyway... all I'm saying is that you can't judge a website by a short one-time visit.

I was reading in the Open Mic board last night and was really impressed by how many quality pieces were on there.

They do have their rules... so I guess people can end up getting kicked off for breaking them. I got a Terms of Service violation for posting lyrics to a song, for instance. They have a rule about copyright which says I shouldn't have done that. If I do it 2 more times, I'd end up kicked off, too, but I won't because I learned from the first time that they don't allow that.

At least the webmaster at AC doesn't kick people off his site for no reason whatsoever...

Not like that other site we all know so well....

my first one was for making up an imaginary
word that had a swear word contained in it
it was funny in my head but I was served
by Barb and I was sad but it was funny

my second was for using the word mastabatory
or perhaps t'was for bantering innuendo with Rhino
that some would take offence to but I think
it was cos they don’t like people making up words

they didn’t do anything when I appeared to be
diss-ing Americans, but it was only in your head
and I got away with some other stuff too
lots of stuff, but none of it was bad, just fun

they nearly had a fit when I said “smashing up a hymen”
or maybe it was that I said thirty-five and seventeen, ooo
but most likely because I talked about licking vaginas
I don’t know, I asked them but they wouldn’t say

So they gave me the boot when I put up a link
-- stupidly and unthinkingly -- oh no it had boobies!
but I don’t mind, I’m at peace with it, que sera sera
and now I choose to avoid stifling environments

when I can
This is the centre of the universe.
My tribe is gathered around me.
Behold me.
I AM.
