cold rain falls
a seat by the fire
awaits inside
welcome home
family and one stranger -
new boyfriend
blossom
this little girl
a woman
sipping eggnog
something cold bumps my hand
the dog's nose
at the table
food and storytelling
mostly stories
homeward bound
dark road in the headlights
edged with snow

kids all over the place
this year....so first time
I'm alone
my doctor says no indoor crowds
anyway
so I turn down invitations
from friends
but i have a project
to build a set of shelves
I sketch it out with measurements
I'm into it
my best friend Lee
brings a giant plate of food
with rolls and dessert
turkey, yams, cranberry sauce
dressing, mashed potates, green beans
gravy
another fine year passes by
and I am thankful once again
this year....so first time
