April fool -
another inch of snow
I'm not laughing
this had better be the last one
this had better be the last one

the snow has given up
today is windy and cool
dark skies tossing tree blossoms
the sidewalk is pink and white
a soft quilt to admire and walk upon
the stormdrains fill with pastel colors
to be washed with leaves into
the chesapeake bay many miles away
it is springtime in the city

the death of empathy is the birth of barbarism
Re: this had better be the last one
warm April day
snowbank remnants hidden
under dead leaves
woodland stroll -
from meltwater pools
spring peepers
overdressed
forgetting I don't need
that extra fleece
