bizarre disarray

he stops, nose held high
across the field - wild turkeys
dinosaurs, I say

an acorn falls
and rolls along the road
into his mouth

luke stops his truck
to say hello to Kane
and, oh yes, to me

this day
a cluster of tears and awe
no hesitation

horseshoe tournament today
rain or shine we weather on
troopers for beer and fun

new year
new number
new hope

mosquito
welcome to our festive meal
but why me?

this haiku
just clicked
itself off

one haiku
boomerangs from the past
in and out of mind

a small gesture
of love
warps to selfishness

one twinge of justice
is all it takes
re-boot the love

focus on what's real
there's love in us all
