Even in America there are a few poems to be found for instance aong those of W. S. Merwin, which convey the truth of Zen. In most of what has been offered by Americans as Zen poetry, however, there is a layer of spiritual posturing which-once you know what to look fro-is as easy to tell from the real thing as night from day.

Seeds From a Birch Tree
I bought the book because carmen loved it. I suppose it has been about four years that I have been reading your haiku. I still don't know the truth of Zen. But I don't ever remember the slightest whiff of spiritual posturing in any of them. True ku. But I am not even able to call myself a novice yet.

I wonder what you are about in this one. I mean the 8-6-8
It reminds me of this one from the same book
Before The Garden

ah wait a minute
I think I see something
too tired to think

Got to sleep on it

don't know if I am drifting off into bullshit
usualy haiku hits me like a flash

first time it happened was an abehill ku, leafy shadows, then like a flash over nagasaki I saw shadows burnt into a wall.
