EPISODE FOUR!

Dear Friends:

In this episode our would-be-Felsteiner- saviours stumble upon a deadly chopper, and another searcher-- to make a trio-- one more styrofoam cup washed up on the polluted beach of the cosmos.

Dear friends and readers:

Thank you for all your comments. I hope the readership for THE ADVENTURES OF HERMAN UTIX continues to expand.

As far as paper publication goes, I'll probably put my graphic novel, YOUR THIRD HAND IS YOUR MOUTH, into print first.

Right now I'm freelancing for some friends of mine who are veteran DC and Marvel artists, editing their graphic novels, one of which will leap into print early next year ( more about that in a subsequent message).

In upcoming episodes, a couple down the pipeline, the leader of the ERRORISTS, SHURHAVA-BIN-HAYDN ( say this name slowly aloud . . .) will finally make his appearance.

Here's a sneak preview from episode six:

.... "force in general without the consequences of force in particular"....

"Errorists".... yes. exactly.

this series is hitting pretty hard, Z. (and on target, from where I sit)

Well done.

EPISODE FIVE !!

The story so far:

Three professors at the Noetic Foundation of North America are involved in a strange intrigue: One of them, Dr. Doremus Felsteiner , has published an important treatise which, nevertheless, has resulted in his being kidnapped by Errorists. Rather than go to the federal authorities, two of his colleagues, Dr. Herman Utix and Dr. Pleni Gudinski fly to search for him in Arkansas after receiving a crypto-apocryphal postcard.

On their long hike up to the mountain's summit, Gudinski and Utix are buzzed by a helicopter, causing them to seek shelter under an outcropping of rock where they discover a fellow seeker, Li-Li Lermontov, Dr. Felsteiner's long-time companion.

Using his extra-sensory perception, Gudinski establishes that Felsteiner is alive and reasonably well, though he may have suffered torture ( as we readers know for a fact).

On returning to the spot where Utix abandoned his backpack in his haste to take cover from the hostile chopper, the trio discover a cryptic note . . .

Good question. I want one too!

(cafepress has a comic book size... maybe you could start a store, zlatko, and I can help set up your books for print? just an idea)

Dear Doreen:

What a delightful idea, and a generous offer.

I am currently working on re-drawing and lettering YOUR THIRD HAND IS YOUR MOUTH, featuring my other character, Umbrella Black: Fetish Psychiatrist ( you may recall her fragmented adventures here on StudioEight) which I would like to publish in paper.

As my work develops, I'll keep you informed.

Your friend and art co-conspirator,

EPISODE SIX !!

. . .in which our intrepid rescuers read the mysterious note again, and HU has some suspicions about the handwriting.

Meanwhile, the ERRORISTS prepare to fly into town to get some groceries, some more spumoni ( for use in torture) and some more 33 1/3 long-play records of Jim Nabors covering the Beatles to use as "alternative interrogation" against Doremus Felsteiner.

But don't despair, readers . . .help is ON the way!

In the old e-mail bag, here's a cautionary note received this week, from (former) Congressman Mark Foley:

Dear Zlatko:

Be careful about putting that comic strip on the Internet. It could be "inkily explicit" and get you into a lot of trouble.

I know about these things.

Best,

MF

TO BE CONTINUED NEXT WEEK!!

( author's note)

Astute viewers will no doubt notice in the next-to-last panel of this episode that the role of Li-Li Lermontov is taken by Barbara Rush, best known for her portrayal of the character DELLA STREET in tv's PERRY MASON series . . .
