Jam #1 - Two suns

Post by sooZen » April 22nd, 2005, 8:08 am

acrylic on small canvas (7x9) by Cecil Lee, April 2005

Image

sitting at the drafting table
painting on tiny canvases
his big canvas dreams gone

essence of color
two suns radiate
two sons

working on three or four or more
at once

small pictures, big strokes
amoebas crawl across the sky
purple

color blind
green looks different

dot to dot
two suns rising, falling
Freedom's just another word...

i'm at odds with myself
i shirk responsibility
watching my rear

i command respect
tiny paramecia swim my way

saluting synapses
leaping through fire

yet i shirk respectability
holes in my genes

I paint on canvas

My dreams you see

Questions and answers

Shapes and schemes

Beautiful creations

Handled by me

Are tasted and treated

Like watermelon seeds

Spit out

Left to dry

On the floor

At my feet
I used to walk with my head in the clouds but I kept getting struck by lightning!
Now my head twitches and I drool alot. Anonymouse

First there was life
No, a desire for life
rushing fast, rushing strong
we were ready, we were strong
the equation was around us
it's force underneath us
our substance begat us
our canvas, our mother

Snakes to the Sun

Post by lescaret » April 22nd, 2005, 8:31 pm

Snakes to the sun
where waters run

Bold blue sky
don't ask why

Jump in the painting
and fly.
"... accept balance on the turbulent promenade."

It is possible that I have
landed on a distant planet.
My body does not feel like my own.
My skin has scales. I skid and slip,
slew, slide like a serpent.
My tongue is reptillian, split in two
like my dreams. Two suns intoxicate me
with their brightness, their heat.
Who put me here? Am I dead?
My outer layer is pink. I am not like
the others. They ignore me or hiss
when I come near. I curl into a
ball and chase
my tail with my mouth.
I want to swallow myself whole to
disappear from this place.
They are slimey creatures who
hiss me hiss me hiss me hiss me
and I, the pink amphibian, the
alienated hydra, I am part of
a watercolor painting, cornered,
at bay, held captive by nightmare
rays from double fireballs.

"they say he was a mistake"
but they were wrong...
he was intent, intentional
second sun rising
chasing tales
teaching one to go your own direction
youngest but oldest
older than earth
father, boy in snake's disguise

"I am the boss"
he tells tales of life before
"I am the brother"
of number one

he laughs at those that follow the sun...
for his light is greater
Freedom's just another word...
