joined at the hip
2 of us resplendent
wave to me honey

Ah, now I see
It's plain to me
Two worlds apart
We may as well be
The chasm in between
So deep, so wide
Though you my love
Are the mirror of me
I cannot reach your side

no twin is an island
joined by something
that you cannot see
something under the surf

and right before she answered me
she leaned far back into the surf
to wet her hair
submerged herself
and all I could see
were bits of her
brand new green velvet bikini
(I won't say which bits)

Islands in the unstreaming perfect mind....

the more they wink
the more they keep their distance
parallel flirtation
in a wandering world

unless we see or hear or touch
we rarely know
I do not know
but I believe
that there are islands
of experience
out there, beyond
my current senses;
and so I ask
I sometimes pray
I say:
Oh lord, I know that what I do not know
Is close at hand
And what I know
could fill my hand
So make the things I do and say
part of the bigness beyond me ...
an island there in front of me ...
