the peak experience
hatted
shadow play
together

confident shadows
sun framed figures
leap across divides

the quick skinned sediment of shadows
time exposure silhouette
a cavern in a cowboy hat
experienced in sagebrush

only the shadow knows
a creosote glance
ten gallon gully wash
across the divide

The sun carries me
carries me away
to where the light touches the earth
where my body cannot play

The sun carries my spirit
through the rocky world
where time has traveld and spirits played
where the story of man is unfurled

The sun carries me
Mind and soul
to where I deam the ancestors live
and time will take no toll

I don't see the morbid, unless you mean the Anasazi drawings on the canyon walls, the old people in shadow time. But that can't be right, you said future not past.

What blows me away is how you managed to do the HTML or what ever to get that image link. Care to share? please.

organic forms of cliffs and grasses, a soft pallette of greys, yellows, even softer rose hue bear witness to the hikers' communion, healing reverie.
