well, drat, i got in trouble for posting my poem about commonly confused words in composition i. ok, teach, won't try that again, thankfully there's a studio eight, though, so yeah, anyone feeling up to art about commonly confused words?

Lists of commonly confused words can be learned through creative solutions for learners that enjoy learning through art. For instance, I compiled a poem that helped me to memorize the distinctions between the words' variances in spelling:

Commonly Confused Words
Allusion is confusion when you don't read between the lines,
Illusions are confusions of perceptions and the mind.
Already, the time has come to begin and finish the racing event,
but the runners were all ready to give up on their strenuous intent.
"Appraise a raise of 10 cents," asked the hourly cook to their boss,
"Apprise me with your answer and that my job I haven't lost!"
Assents of approval were sent of the removal of management,
The cook's ascent to a higher position due to previous fiscal tangents.
Barely-bare nudists had to tan with sensitive skin,
Bears bear the weight of having to swim sans any fins.
Boards of directors board flights to overnight rhumbs,
Bored holes were drilled by a bored worker with no thumbs.
Break a cake in eight places and you've got a setting for a group,
Brake upon your appetite or your guests will have to eat soup.
Confident was the commissariat that they knew where all their dairy was at;
Confidant, I tell you in private that it's all been stolen, though, for my merry rat!
Counsel is needed as advice for what to do,
Councils of dairy regulators will have me for their stew!
Eminent eminences eminently orated,
Imminent fanfare was to soon be paraded.
Moral obligations of new policies endured evasive speech about the absurd,
Morale shot high with illogical cries that fry cooks would now be tenured.
Personal personals and classified classifieds were kept in secret hiding,
Personnel were staffed to secure the documents from spies finding them.
Whether with or without a doppler radar,
Weather would still come in from afar.
This learning device allowed me to creatively think about each word's definition(s) while dedicating its usage to memory through written means. Another example could be an exercise to paint different scenarios exhibiting the differences in definition and usage between commonly confused words. Also, a learner who enjoys photography could attempt to capture different images that convey the definition or usage of each word.
