who wants to go first?

I think I will go first today
It seems to be the right time
To work on words&rhyme
Before it goes away

I think I will go first today
And make this short poem shine
With a dullness oh so fine
Of grass sawdust and hay

This is my very first sonnet
And I'm proud I went and done it
Especially without a plan

I find out that following rules
Can be quite fun if you so choose
But for the last bit I think it could be interesting if I don't bother about the length of the verse and try and make it as long as I possibly can.

Imagine: wisdom’s sage had dipped a brush

Imagine: wisdom’s sage had dipped a brush
but shallow in the inky universe—
the movement but a gracious arc of lush
and verdant vines, intent to quick traverse
some page of former blank replete with marks
simplicity might envy: circle drawn
so perfectly, so fluidly, it harks
of all creation’s necessary dawn
of primacy; and just as brought to close,
that shallow tincture kiss departs in peace
as if the pen were never stained—and rose
as once the brush had been, a soft release
imparts a seamless deposition rest.
Imagine love so worked in wisdom blest.

Rabbouni!—this is not how I would love

Rabbouni!—this is not how I would love
you. Mind my quiet introversion past,
sob silent eyes diminutively cast
upon my teacher’s feet; how you above
in pity must have condescended. Of
what merit have I gained your grace at last
to notice me? Forgive my love amassed—
if not for other mercies, since my love
is not my fault, but blessed yours alone.
My teacher, I don’t ask that you condone
affections unintended on my part
I know are inappropriate: my heart
persists to praise your acumen, my dove,
because I love to learn & love to love.
