2005-2006

Post by Lightning Rod » December 31st, 2005, 2:09 pm

We've come to the wee hours of 2005
how, oh how, have I managed to survive?
I would like to think it was by my cunning or my will
but I know it was just luck, cut the frills.
"These words don't make me a poet, these Eyes make me a poet."

I knew I was alive in 2005
because my name was not inscribed
in the obituary section of the Post.
I checked it this morning, too.
I wasn't there and neither were you.
So let's have a toast!
Here's to getting our kicks
in 2006!

Tricks are for rabbits
who pop out from hats,
but even more than that,
they are magic!
Life's middle name!
Welcome, gandsharp!
I hope you enjoy some of the same
wizardry and charm,
amusement and delight...
(glad to hear you found this site!)

It's worse when you have
a 13-year-old daughter
dancing in the kitchen
like an MTV diva.

"My hump, my hump"
singing along.

I'm not sure she knows
what it means. Of course,
I could be wrong.

year
death and the tax-man came together
like it was no big deal, and I filed an extension
with both for the time to hug you

and I still believe in their high taxes
(maybe even more so now)
because I want roads
smooth and accessible

so I can always visit your hillside
time-no-longer-worries-us rest
where spring was so peaceful
this year of no proper adjective

This year. Next Year. Such standard leapfrog jumps.
Full yes and no, with paradox: no trumps—
So unsurvived, Last Year's decay
and Next Year's birth might best display
their lumps, their lumps, their lovely maybe lumps.

I agree yes lets lump it all together
2006 just has to be better
2005 was full of hurricanes and crash landings
We need calmer weather and more understanding
In all the myth and all the facts and fiction
We need a little warmth to warrant a conviction

2005 was a pretty good year
Got married to a woman so dear
Formed the darc forum with misfits like me
and now in the light it's easier to see
why I never fit in
so hey can't wait for 2006 to begin
Gonna bring it in right
alone with my dandylion tonight
I hope 06 is as good for you as 05 was for me
when love showed me the door to prosperity.
Happy New year my friends

Good to see you here gandsharp, dandy will be here soon.

Im sure you are both looking to this new year ahead
I hope 2006 finds you happy and makin lots of bread
I hope 2006 is gentler for me and I too will find a lover
I need to show love to myself first in order to love another

Your words ring so true
have to love yourself before another can love you too
I was hating myself and every breath I breathed
in my heart i did grieve
for myself without reprieve
put it all behind me started over life brand new
and I know it will happen for you.

Please excuse me for being so cheerful and bright
when usually i rain darkness with all my might
but love changed my point of view
guess I need something to inspire my muse
think I'll go watch the news
and get depressed.

yeah your right
old hippies like me are just happy to be alive
why the nixon years and vietnam we survived
and all those drug bust and legal shit
enough to make a dope smoking hippie quit
yeah nailed my hide to the wall
even in my darcness I have a ball.

Happy New Years Jim, may you have a time to remember.
