I'll bet John Merrick is turning over in his grave.

"Patties"? Christ
that's even worse!
Burger anyone?

John Merrick,
the elephant man
what a wonderful movie
I cried at the end
I used to walk with my head in the clouds but I kept getting struck by lightning!
Now my head twitches and I drool alot. Anonymouse

Yes, quite the sad story. People were cruel back then. Today John Merrick would be in tall cotton, a regular on the talk show circuit.

free as the wind
the windy wind that windied today
fly fricker fly
ride that elephant into the sky
frisbee the patties past the moon
get thyself dizzy
don't chuckiewuk into the lagoon
spin towards the unknown universes
catch the seventh realm
and get flung to the outer rim
jam into the stars
and have a mess of misadventures
don't look back
read me, but don't play me backwards

A new year starts every day, so I tear a sheet of paper off the wall, and it has a different number on it. I just don't get it. And I don't get Thursday either.

I am all for interspecies love. She reached out her trunk and wrapped it around my waist. She gently pulled me to her with a strength I could not resist. She studied me with her beautiful brown eyes then took my hand with the end of her trunk and placed it in her mouth. I let it rest there on a molar the size of a loaf of bread. Thirty two years since I left the circus in Montreal and still I dream elephant dreams.

Sabu Visits The Twin Cities Alone

The movie wasn't really
doing so hot
said the new producer
to the old big shot
its dying on the edge
of the great midwest
Sabu must tour
or forever rest.

Hey look ma
here comes the elephant boy
bundled all up in his corduroy
headed down south towards Illinois
from the jungles of East St. Paul.

His manager sat
in the office alone
staring at the numbers
on the telephone
wondering how a man
could send a child actor
to visit in the land
of the wind chill factor.
Sabu was sad
the whole tour stunk
the airlines lost
the elephant's trunk
the roadie got the rabies
and the scabies
and the flu
they was low on morale
but they was
high
on.

elephants heave through the land
rocking the rocks
and rolling the gravel paths

what's a year in the life of elephant?
what's a tusk in a pinch?
how men love their thickly ominous ivories

pianos and cameos
jungles and living rooms
thatched rooves and fenced habitats

bring me down to the watering hole
O elephant
let me watch you in the glory of your home

Rise and shine
its back to school time.
A new year to keep the pace
running this human race.
Kids to school, wife to work before sunrise.
Wipe the sleep from my eyes
and now its time for me to catch up
after I fill my coffee cup.
I think this is going to be a really good year
full of love and family cheer.

turbulence and giddiness
roars and shadows
a comment, a hark!
let it all come as it may
if i can't stand it, you'll help me sit down
we're locked in intermingledness*

Let it come as it may
as I come as I can
and if I have no help
I got my own helping hand.

Intermingled emotions
a heady love potion
leads me to excited love motions
Its the new year I'm ready to rock
and dandy is handy with my little ****

Sweet woman's dews dripping for me
erotic devotion to the seventh degree
give me all I can ever desire
as our passion conspire
to set the bed on fire.

snow and ice
make a perfect place
for running into dipsy dazes motley mazes
another generation born today
mumbling mice eating pears and hay
zebras calling out for whores
want to fuck another door
i dont get the gray
and as a matter of fact
it's drizzling outside and no one can act
like that
when you're wearing that hat
stunted on beer riding naked on a horse
wanting the soup before the nuts
the slit before the guts
i'm gonna eat that canary
cause he chirped at me funny
and i'm gonna eat his brother too
no one likes to be lonely
and knowing i'm so eager to fight cant make letting me in any easier.

The cat that ate the canary
got a belly ache
Save the pussy
for heaven's sake
and wipe that smirk off your face
my words are no disgrace
maybe out of place
I once rode a horse naked
but I beat him to death
running until he drew his last breath.

But I was a much younger man
thinking shallow dreams were a solid plan
left me naked in the blowing sand
with my gray hair blowing long
singing an old hippie song
but lost my bong
in a jail cell full of thieves
I still lament
the loss of my bong

how thoughtful
how kind
to think of the chirping canary
and how true
"no one likes to be lonely"
however, some do
like to be alone
especially when being digested
swallowed whole
no, if I were the little canary
I would prefer
going down this wretched road
alone...

chirp chirp cheers
chirped the canary
I shit on you.
