Music, Images and Lighter Chat

Post by Lightning Rod » December 31st, 2005, 7:57 pm

We will be recording and playing some music especially for the New Year.

Doreen and WIREMAN and I will be playing and talking and waiting for the big ball to fall. Get your iPod ready.

To get things started I thought I would play a Joy Urchins tune called

Hope Is Soaring High
"These words don't make me a poet, these Eyes make me a poet."

The Poet's Eye

Hey, you're all bloody beautiful! What a great new year's intro.
Hey wireman! You're sounding great. Happy bongos, doreen. A great way to beat your intentions into a crowdful of happy fedora and non-fedora wearers

it's way deep into 2006 here. Seems to be working.

If the river could speak
what tales would it tell?

Of Assiniboine, Crow, Cree,
Ojibway, Blackfeet and Hidatsa
floating on fur-laden bull boats,
to the fort to trade for beads,
blankets and cloth?

Of the whitetail doe and
her fawn warily approaching
its banks to quench their thirst?

Winter has silenced its
watery song for a season.
Quietly she flows beneath the
ice until Spring's warm breath
frees her again in 2006.

What is another year to a river?
