Family Conspiracy

When we think about conspiracy Watergate comes to mind or maybe the Iran Contra Affair. Even Enron and insider trading can be considered as a good example of conspiracy. Actually we are all touched in one way, shape or form by conspiracy and everyone conspires even though no one will admit it and that in itself is a conspiracy.

More than not, conspiracy is related to crime but not all conspiracies are crime related. When a corporate board comes together, they conspire to make money. There is a thin line between legal and illegal conspiracy. A legal form is the family conspiracy. Mom might say “well Junior, we just won’t show dad your report card this time. What he doesn‘t know won‘t hurt him. “ A collaboration between mom and son to keep dad from knowing the truth is a conspiracy. Every day people come together to aid each other in swaying the scales in their favor. The more that benefit from that action the better. Someone may get hurt in the process but in the words of a famous Vulcan “the needs of the many out weigh the needs of the few” thus the conspiracy continues.

As we cruise through life we are confronted with many life altering decisions and when we collaborate these decisions life becomes complicated and unstable. Dependency becomes second nature and control is shared, not to be privately enjoyed. Tomorrows outcome becomes uncertain as lives are shared.
