When do duets happen?
Bring me a partner and I'd get one going.

SLD,

It was a planned event that we had once upon a time. It was fun. It worked out so well, we decided to make it a permanent forum. Then nobody used the forum. *sighh* So I archived it.

If you want to pair up with someone and write something together (either a composed piece which you would write via email or chat and then post, or a thread where you two go back and forth in the thread, writing inspired by each other)... well that would be great!

If the forum starts getting used regularly, maybe it should be moved back up out of the archives.

We can do it right here. I'm good with that.

Sure! go ahead! Enjoy!

I'll do it, er, i mean duet, with you if you want.

I just meant that many people don't scroll down this far... depending on their monitor resolution, they may not even see this... so if it starts getting used regularly, i could move it up higher on the page and out of the archives.

but here is fine. works for me!

K, sweet. Here we go go Doreen. I'm ready. We'll just be spontaneous. I think I'd made it too long, just shortened it up. I'm not much on rhyming very good, I stink at it. But, giving it a whirl.

P.S. Susan stole my catfish man's heart years ago, it's old news, lol. It'll be still fun though. Thanks for taking me out on the dance floor for my first Doreen.

Sissy Sally gave the whistle
out the back door of Roger's
looking like a peppered purr
in her black and white tights.

Miss Susan stole her man,
and Sally was out to fight.

it's almost 1am here... let's do it this way... tomorrow 'cause I have to sleep now... I'll come back and copy what you wrote and paste it in my reply window, then add to it. Then you do the same, copy the whole thing from my post (which will include both your lines and my lines) and paste them in the new posting window and add more to it. And so on. Then we'll take it as it goes until we both agree we're finished. How's that sound? This will be fun.

Also curious why you chose to rhyme when you don't usually rhyme. Just wondering.

See you tomorrow! Goodnight.

I'll go to sleep too. But, that sounds good. I figured rhyming would be easiest for a duet and good practice for me. If you wanna go a different route I'm ok with it though.

Sue was no ingenue, she knew
exactly what she was doing.
Sally knew what she would do, too,
it was Sue she was pursuing.

"Hey, bitch!," Sally yelled, "I know
you're out there hiding behind
the chicken wire in the field grass!
Better come out and bring that
coward Roger with ya, 'fore I come
down there and kick yer big fat ass!"

Susan pursed her red lips in a smack
and lifted the back of her skirt
high moon style,
just like that. Real sentimental!

Sally was on her with fists to her thighs,
stretching out the stockings to wrap
around Susan's neck.
Whoo Whee! Ride Sally ride!

Roger got there just in time
for the showdown.

He snuck up behind from the back
after Sally had knocked Sue to the ground!

"Ladies, ladies, please!," he pled,
"Don't fight over me, I'm not worth it!
I'm a two-timin' cheat and a scoundrel, to boot!
I think of my women like I think of loot!
The world is the bank, the women the bread,
all I want is to take as many to bed
as I can!," he said.

This little speech gave both S & S pause.
The fisticuffs stopped and they listened.
"You mean you've had more than Susan?"
she asked, "You mean Sue's not the only one?"
Sue said, "Damn! I thought I was special!
Well to hell with you! I'm done!"

And that was that,
a scruff for a scruff.
Susan went packing
without a last minute puff.
A drag of a fight and a scoundrel
of a man.

But, Sally thought about changing
into a red satin number
she called out, "Susan! Hows bout
you and I go out to a ritzy club
on North Caliber,
I think I missed a spot
and I was just wondering..."

Doreen, here's my best shot. What a blast, we must dance another dance again soon dear. We made a fine couple.

Hahaha! That's great! What fun this was!

Thanks for the dance!

Maybe we should post it as a collaboration up in the creative writing forum.

For now, it's almost midnight again. So, I'm off to go try to sleep.

Insomnia is my nemesis. When I finally fall asleep, I don't want to wake up. My dreams are a lot of fun. Much better, sometimes, than being awake. They're movies.

Hope to dance with you again some time! Gnight.
