Gloucester Point Just After a Rain

Waterman heading out
into the gloom
hoping for a bountiful catch
unfortunately governed by limltations

Even here industry looms
a refinery adds to the gloom

The rivers, oceans and seas
teach us how to be
if oceans thrive
we stay alive

Dagbabut! Why don't ya break my heart with beauty. :) Maybe now we can get out of this traffic jam and back on the water, (there has got to be a banner in there somewhere pease doreen.) I dont know if you noticed but way up in front of that line of cars is a guy with a dinghy tied to the roof of his car. He has just untied it and is lowering it into the water. He is going to escape by water.

So eastern shore of Maryland looking. The culture of the waterman, waterwoman too these days. Isolated before the bay bridge, I used to ride the ferry with crazy mike before the bridge. I collect happy childhood memories. Or as the poet said, "I know the location of every crumb of happiness that has fallen through the cracks." quoted from memory

Nice shots thanks :D

Stilltrucking they do call this area the Western Shore. The only difference is we don't have any ocean here.

Do you remember the shooting wars between the Virginia waterman and the Marlanders?

I wonder if it is still true? Skipjacks were the last fleet of working sailboats in the lower 48. A conservation effort to save the oyster beds. They had to dredge by sail.

Did you know I was related to Lord Baltimore?

Sam Baltimore the plumber was a distant cousin of mine. He come into Ellis Isand and they asked him his name and he thought they wanted his destination. So he said Baltimore and the name stuck.
