My Valentines Day movie of choice

Post by mousey1 » February 14th, 2005, 4:30 pm

In honour of Valentine's Day......

VD day which Doreen calls it....

Which by the way is scarily appropriate in this day and age, well, probably actually always was.....people are a seedy lot.....

Anyway, I digress......

I watched.....

The Notebook.

A movie which I highly recommend. It was lovingly sweet. Sadly true. Bittersweet.

Life is Beautiful? Is that that foreign, Italian I think, film? I forget the little guys name that played in it, he won an academy award, I believe.

Never seen it! Subtitles, right? I hate movies with subtitles, the reading detracts! I'd've watched it if not for that. Am I missing something by not having seen it.....I hate missing something!

I am watching Fight Club in Spanish with English subtitles, difficult I agree, I suppose after seeing LIB about a dozen times I have started to think about it as the story of a father's love for his son.

Life Is Beautiful is available on DVD with about six languages including English. I have seen it about six or eight times in Italian
and four or five times in English. I just like the sound of Italian, I grew up on the fringes of Little It-lee (Balto pronunciation)

'Kay, if I don't have to muck through subtitles I'll try it.

I'll let you know if I like it.....it's got a good premise.....

LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL! Maybe I'll become a believer!!! I jest, actually life is what you make it and I choose to think it is beautiful.

Thanks for 'sponding.

Corny! Corny! Life is corny, but not corny enough to suit me.

Glad you liked it tho Doe.

I work in a Care Center, lots of dementia, alzheimer residents there, too sad, too sad. Shit I hope it never happens to me. I'm fond of my awareness. Anyway, that's probably why it moved me so. I have seen firsthand the spouses, sons and daughters, how loving, how caring, the sadness behind their eyes.

Their departure was so appropriate. 'Twould be nice to go out that way, wrapped in each other's loving arms.

Sniff, sniff.....

Oh, tis a love story, oh yes, yes, yes.....
And I believe in love too.

Here's to love.
I used to walk with my head in the clouds but I kept getting struck by lightning!
Now my head twitches and I drool alot. Anonymouse
