A short clip from the movie "Wings Of Desire". This was after a combination of two things that I saw. One being panta rhei's wonderful photo "Heaven Over Berlin" and the other from a DVD I have called "Fishing With John". Where there is a reference being made to the movie. By uttering the line "Why I am here". I've not seen the movie but hope to someday.

an interesting segment dave. i also enjoy the different flow of non american films and the risks the film makers take with cinematography.

There are a few in this country who take the risks. Jim Jarmusch for one. I've taken noticed of his films. Here's a couple of clips from his movie "Coffee and Cigarettes".

I saw Wender´s Wings of desire long time ago. So beautiful images!!! even the german sounds soft somehow!! :) . But I didn´t remember the actor, he looks like Bruno Ganz? but I´m not sure...(the same that performed St Exupery, Hitler and the grandparent in the film about the pianist kid?). He´s great!!!!!!!

And I didn´t see Jarmush´s Coffee & Cigarettes yet. I´ll finish watching the clips later! Iggy Pop & Tom Waits!!!!!! wow!!!!!!! looks good!!!!

thanks, dave!!!!!! :D

Yes that is Bruno Ganz and "Vitus" is the film about the kid pianist. I looked it up on Wikipedia. Check out Jarmusch's other films too. I've got "Stranger Than Paradise", "Permanent Vacation" and "Down By Law". All of them are great to watch!!!! :D

jarmusch's film "night on earth" is well worth checking out as well. wim wenders has been recommended to me , but i haven't checked him out yet. my personal favorite of contemporary directors is tornatore. cinema paradiso, star maker - he doesn't have a bad film and some are truly excellent.

I did see NOE a number of times. He's got a new one that he's working on right now. I hope to see it when it comes out.
