Has anybody seen this film about Bob Dylan?

If so, what did you think?

I've been waiting a good many moments for this little flick to hit this side of the Atlantic.

My son said it wasn't that great. My daughter can't wait

We need more movies about Bob Dylan.

Who's that?

I saw it and some parts I liked because this is what Bob Dylan might be in real life and the other parts were a little confusing. Great music in it though that was the one part I liked the most out of it over all. I would say give it a try and see what you think of it.

I really don't know what to think...I mean, I've been a Dylan freak for well over 40 years now and am pretty familiar with his story, but this film takes a lot of artistic license on so many levels. My take on it is that four (or five?I forget) little movies, each with a totally different perspective/vision were made- then they were chopped up and edited together Frankenstein style to creat the whole picture. Parts of it, particularly all of Cate Blanchette's effort were brilliant and had me busting up with laughter, while the Richard Gere-as-Billy-The-Kid thing left me yawning and confused. I dunno what to think of it. I have it, though, and will watch it again here soon to see if if comes in any clearer to my foggy old head.

Tell ya what, if you havent seen it and you live, like I do, in some rural shithole on the edge of the world where oddball films dont come to the local Bijou, I'll burn five copies and mail them out to you Studio8ers who'd like to have a copy.
